Good stuff. My only gripe is, the piano needs to sound more natural. This is an emotional song. So I need to feel the emotion. And I'm not getting it with the tone of the piano. I hear it in the composition, sure, but not the tone.

LazyBucks responds:

Thanks I guess? I'll try out a different technique next time to try bring out the tone more.

(!!!)

This totally sounds like something Wes Borland would make/play in between Limp Bizkit sets... And that's saying a good thing! Keep it up dude.

Doumaaa responds:

haha cool

Pocket full of honies!!!

This beat's hot and so are the lyrics. Definitely got something good going on here. it's hard to find some good rap music here on Newgrounds but I guess you're going to change that, huh?

Really, really like this track.

mseemercury responds:

thx brother

Interesting.

The guitar intro is a bit long. I like the beat and really dig the synth-sound throughout the entire piece but feel like the guitar really got in the way of the song's greatness. I would have preferred NO GUITAR at all but that's just my personal opinion. Keep up the good work, you sound pro.

mseemercury responds:

thx

Amerikkkan Tekno?!

Great stuff, the usual... Since a lot of people have already reviewed before me, I'm going to nitpick.

-At 0:33 precisely, when you make the switch from classical instrumentation
to deep fucking-the-world bass, there's an audio glitch which is pissing me off!
-The intro was a little quiet but I think that this was beyond your control since there is a file-size limit on NG, I understand.
-At 1:23, the Asian-sounding instrument is flecking awesome and I love the breakdown at 1:41 and everything else after that.

i guess I didn't have a lot to nit pick about, just the 0:33 glitch I guess.

And oh, is that a Mario coin sound sample I hear?

Get yourself signed to a label already.

PERVOK responds:

I really should have fixed that glitch, but for some reason I thought no one would notice :( Self, you big dummy!

Thanks for the review man, it's greatly appreciated.

Fantastiche!

Nice slow intro that builds up. I knew this would be great from the beginning. It also feels sort of creepy because of the delayed/reverbed growling I can hear throughout the beginning. Drums are definitely not static which is a major problem for people when they make music like this. There are a few mixing issues and it could be mastered to be better but I understand, with the sheer power you were working with and the amount of volume from all of these instruments, it's hard to tweak it to perfection from home. Still nice.

I like this.

himenow responds:

Well, the mastering is a lot better than what it used to be :P
Seriously, listen to some of my older stuff xD

But I'm getting better, yknow. Learning, trying new things.

Odd but entrancing.

I like this a lot, the only problem, it sounds like I'm listening to this with my head inside an empty water cooler... Why is that? Shouldn't it be much louder and crisp? In any case, great piano work and ambient? H'yeah!

ConVito responds:

Well, it's all I could do since I'm using Finale to write. I tried exporting it as a midi file then converting it using other programs, but it just sounds horrible when I do that. I enhanced it as best I could with Sound Forge but this is the best I could do, sorry.

Somethign new!

Interesting, there isn't enough dubstep here on Newgrounds so I applaud you for that but the track felt a bit too giddy to be a true dubstep track, you know? I know dub is supposed to be music you can enjoy whilst dancing to it (if you please) but this felt unnatural, a little forced. I still liked the drop though it seemed to be a bit high in frequency therefore dominating the track, look into that.

But, so far, for what you've got, I like it.

Reignee responds:

Thanks for the review, I just had a friend also telling me smt about the freq of the lead dominating the melody, so I fixed that and made it an octave lower. I also looked into the forced sound, it might have been caused by some double kick I accidently added, which is removed aswell :)

Favorite'd!

I don't listen to as much dubstep as I should either but this definitely rocked my socks. You sir, are fantastic. My only problem, (as has been stated before) are the drums. Though they are fantastic, I've listened to your other songs and this is way under-done, you could have been much more fantastic. In any case, favorite song of mine it is now.

More.

SineRider responds:

I see what you're getting at. The drums are pretty minimal. I'll try and do a little remix to sprice it up a bit. Thanks for the review :)

Da da duuhhfuuuhhr!

Classic Wu feel, just like you wrote. I personally don't watch any anime myself and there's nothing wrong with it, as a matter of fact, I kinda admire you for not giving a fuck and just going with it and actually using and naming anime as part of your "style." Very nice.

Comparisons to RZA are inevitable for this piece and I am a fan of strings, which this joint features extensively. Nevertheless, I still feel that this was a little too straightforward, you know what I'm saying? Not enough variety...

Lemme rephrase that, there is enough variety in the strings but none of it is memorable enough to stand on its own. I would have much preferred another instrument layered atop the strings or a different chord; something to change/ramp it up.

I love this track, but I also love Spawn's track but since this is a competition, and I must make a choice, my vote goes to Spawn.
