Impressive for a first.

I am obsessed with strings, always have, always will be... Now, I took a bit of music theory back in high school and it's already been said, string players aren't big fans of constant whole/half notes; regardless, I really enjoyed this piece and you can't tell me you used FL for this?

I never really got into FL (because I couldn't ever figure it out) so I stuck with Reason and I'm slowly getting back into classical composition. How long have you been composing? In any case, I'll be listening to any of your future comps.

Take care and thank you.

Animith responds:

Good sir, I share your obsession.
Definite note for next time for me will be to make the parts sound more interesting for hypothetical players, don't worry ;)

And no, I didn't use FL. I tried, but like you, I couldn't really figure it out. That and the VSTs didn't want to work in FL, so I used Cubase AI4 instead.

Though if you want to be shocked at the amazingness that can be FL, MaestroRage said in another site forum that he uses Fruity Studio 8 as his sequencer, and the stuff he writes is brilliant.

I've kind of been on-and-off composing for a few months now; used some demo-version notation software, but the fact there was no save button got very tiresome, so I decided to work out how to use a MIDI key editor in a saveable CUbase for this one.

Thank YOU for sharing all your thoughts on this; I appreciate all the advice. Hope anything I do next meets your standards as well. (:

Black tissue.

Side-chaining is my favorite sort of compression and Lordy-lord knows I use it too much but this is fantastic, as I've stated in a previous review of mine. Keep up the nice work, this is hypnotic.

freddyfinger responds:

yeah side-chaining is the shit, thanks

Excellent song.

The beat reminds me of a Moby joint and you killed it with your rhymes. Excellent lyrics and nice flow. Really digging this song. This should definitely remain in the top 10 for the next few weeks.

Burly responds:

Thanks man. I've got another one released too if you haven't checked that out yet. ;) Take it easy.

The whispering...

This is interesting because you chose to whisper. You definitely have some great lyrics, you just have to work on your flow. I really liked the reverb/echo at the end and the changing of pitch, very original. Thanks for using my track and like I said, work on your flow a little so you follow the beat more and you'll be on your way to making some fantastic music!

Fuckin' epic.

This is excellent man. I've been listening to a lot of Clark lately and this just put me back and I love glitch-oriented music, always. The bass makes me want to turn it up but that'll only make my desk vibrate even more. I can tell you put a lot of work into this track and it shows. Keep it up and I'm watching you from now on.

tijnn responds:

Thanks a lot for the nice comment man! I'm glad you liked it, and it's really cool that you're... 'watching me' ;)

Affirmative on the good!!!

This actually pretty good. I also like how it's in "Miscellaneous" because, heh, it really is something else. It's a happy little tune and I dig that.

Genres always giving me a headache ;) ...i just create what i like to hear & do not think in "drawers".

Another GEM.

I just can't get enough of this track. So many different layers and amazing sounds. Again, there are two "hypnotic" sections in this song and those are my favorite parts to the song. The beginning theme/melody that begins at precisely 00:56 is so wonderful I have to keep re-listening to that part. And then the choir kicks in and... That's it. It's just so wonderful I don't have words to describe that part. But then the 2:00 minutes mark is equally beautiful. Almost too beautiful. Wow.

sadlersongs responds:

Thanks man! I like the main theme too! It uses the same progressions heard in many movie themes but, hey, it's a winning formula so I can't go wrong!

Long intro but...

Awesome beat and the lyrics are good. I liked your flow and the entire track sounded hot. I hate to compare but this reminded me of a D12/Eminem track, doesn't mean it's bad in any way. S'actually a compliment. All in all, I enjoyed this track.

mseemercury responds:

thx bro thx alot bro

What? No way...

For a podcast, not only is this lacking in quality but it is also fucking short... I hope you didn't try hard.

JDR1195 responds:

don't worry i didn't try hard and also i know it's short and i know it's shit
