Produced by you!!!

I think this might be one of the best songs on NG with vocals. You've gone the mainstream route and that's fine! The world needs another Kanye, ha! Keep rockin' steady.

Awwr.

I'm always digging your stuff. I love how it goes from ambient to glitched-out drum and bass. You've got my ten.

Favorite'd!

I don't listen to as much dubstep as I should either but this definitely rocked my socks. You sir, are fantastic. My only problem, (as has been stated before) are the drums. Though they are fantastic, I've listened to your other songs and this is way under-done, you could have been much more fantastic. In any case, favorite song of mine it is now.

More.

SineRider responds:

I see what you're getting at. The drums are pretty minimal. I'll try and do a little remix to sprice it up a bit. Thanks for the review :)

This is fantastic.

Just like the description says, this song takes time to build up and when it finally does, its pure bliss. I appreciate tracks like this, we certainly don't have enough of them.

I'm off to listen to some more of your tracks; nice stuff!

Da da duuhhfuuuhhr!

Classic Wu feel, just like you wrote. I personally don't watch any anime myself and there's nothing wrong with it, as a matter of fact, I kinda admire you for not giving a fuck and just going with it and actually using and naming anime as part of your "style." Very nice.

Comparisons to RZA are inevitable for this piece and I am a fan of strings, which this joint features extensively. Nevertheless, I still feel that this was a little too straightforward, you know what I'm saying? Not enough variety...

Lemme rephrase that, there is enough variety in the strings but none of it is memorable enough to stand on its own. I would have much preferred another instrument layered atop the strings or a different chord; something to change/ramp it up.

I love this track, but I also love Spawn's track but since this is a competition, and I must make a choice, my vote goes to Spawn.

that 3rd paragraph was so true...

Impressive for a first.

I am obsessed with strings, always have, always will be... Now, I took a bit of music theory back in high school and it's already been said, string players aren't big fans of constant whole/half notes; regardless, I really enjoyed this piece and you can't tell me you used FL for this?

I never really got into FL (because I couldn't ever figure it out) so I stuck with Reason and I'm slowly getting back into classical composition. How long have you been composing? In any case, I'll be listening to any of your future comps.

Take care and thank you.

Animith responds:

Good sir, I share your obsession.
Definite note for next time for me will be to make the parts sound more interesting for hypothetical players, don't worry ;)

And no, I didn't use FL. I tried, but like you, I couldn't really figure it out. That and the VSTs didn't want to work in FL, so I used Cubase AI4 instead.

Though if you want to be shocked at the amazingness that can be FL, MaestroRage said in another site forum that he uses Fruity Studio 8 as his sequencer, and the stuff he writes is brilliant.

I've kind of been on-and-off composing for a few months now; used some demo-version notation software, but the fact there was no save button got very tiresome, so I decided to work out how to use a MIDI key editor in a saveable CUbase for this one.

Thank YOU for sharing all your thoughts on this; I appreciate all the advice. Hope anything I do next meets your standards as well. (:

Amen brother, that's all I gotta say. :-)

Black tissue.

Side-chaining is my favorite sort of compression and Lordy-lord knows I use it too much but this is fantastic, as I've stated in a previous review of mine. Keep up the nice work, this is hypnotic.

freddyfinger responds:

yeah side-chaining is the shit, thanks

F-f-f-fantastic!

Fived: 4.45 / 5.00 (+ 0.050). This is a smooth-ass joint. Nothin' better than a relaxeron after a hard day and this is the track to do it to.

Um...

How is it that I've heard this on Youtube before and why is the quality so low?

Duh, duh duh duh dah. duh duh duh dah, duh duh duh dah duh!
