Scribbler's News

Posted by Scribbler - August 22nd, 2009

I've never done this so bear with me... This is a small list if people people I like/admire so I think they deserve credit... I also give my reason(s).

/in no particular order.

-war-spawn: probably 65% responsible for the inception of Heavy. I randomly messaged him one day, told him I wanted to make a song, so he introduced me to Yun-Veroz because apparently, they were both fans of Beer Basted Oranges, a track I could not have made without WAR-BASTARD, Joshua Tomar, and a butt-load of other people I am probably forgetting. Believe it or not, we sat on the track longer than it took to make, and I'm talking about Heavy here. But Heavy is one of my favorite song's I've made and for that, I thank you spawn.

-Yun-Veroz: See above.

-Joshua Tomar: See above. Love him too. Knew him before he hit the big time so back off suckers! :P

-Austin Breed: An awesome artist who quite literally has some of the best game ideas I have ever heard. Yeah, he made Magic Pink Man and Facebook Game and we worked for about 1/5 of the summer on a mega huge project I can't really talk about, though if you're sly, you know exactly what I am referring to. Yeah, so Austin loves movies and is good at art... Works for me.

-Nathaniel Milburn: known him for too long and we've actually never met. One of his high-school friends attends my college so that makes us "that" much more close. But yeah, I'd say it's been a good 4, maybe 5 years? Props to the bro as well, Bryce Milburn, another good friend of mine... DId you know that they're twins? Oh my!

-Luis: everyone knows Luis and so do I! I'll never forget, I conned him into doing a voice for some Max Payne-type Flash I was working on back in 2006, and he actually did it, better than I thought. The idea was to use a gruff Max Payne sorta voice, duh, so Luis recorded right in the morning, after he had woken up... Sadly, this was 4 computers ago, so I have no idea if I can ever recover that file!!! Damn. Still, gotta meet him too one day.

-Nub: I make music, he makes music... Check out our collabs... Well, they sorta are collabs. We like each other, he's great.

-SineRider: BIG BIG BIG fan of the music. And it's well-deserved. I think.

-Tom Fulp: this goes without saying.

-Angry Axel: none of you new-skoolers probably have any idea who this is. Probably one of my oldest friends... Known him forever!!!

-FatKidWithAJetPack: Yay for new friends?!?!!

-gobamnit: another one of my favortie NG audio artists.

-Bad-Man-Incorporated: another OLD friend.

-DirtySyko and GumOnShoe and EarFetish: OLD OLD OOOOOOOOOOOLD writing friends. I should talk to them again soon...

SOOO many more but I think that's good for now. Yeah, this is just me trying to feel okay about myself, ha! You have permission to laugh.

Get your paws on it before everyone else does. It is slated for an official 07/28/2009 release but since I love you so much Newgrounds, you get it a day ahead of everyone else.

Magic Pink Man Soundtrack

What's it for I wonder?

If you have no clue what I am talking about, play the original game.

Back in my guitar-playing days, (I shit you not, check my earliest tracks here on NG) I recorded a whole bunch of songs that never made it to the audio portal and this was back when we didn't even have the fancy little GIFs that serve as CD/album covers. In any case, I was so proud of my self, being able to record a song and all to post on the net that I would constantly be posting new songs. before NG, I would keep all of them to myself but now, with an audience, it was thrilling!

After a while, I had gotten a ton of tracks on NG and people were giving me reviews, which were more like pats on the back than crits... I was fin with that. One day, a man, whose name I forget contacted me here on NG. He wanted me to record an album so I could be on his record-label; this meant that he wanted me to make music that wouldn't be uploaded to NG anymore... I didn't like that He told me that he basically wanted me to go commercial and all that good stuff... I would start out small but move up.

I thought about it for a long time (three months to be exact) butI was still going to school, considered myself to be too young, as well as many other things. In the end, I ultimately rejected the offer. Surprisingly enough, the man didn't take it so well and made me a second offer, to which I also refused, explaining why. In any case, after a few weeks, he finally stopped harassing me and I never heard from him again. I wonder what happened to him after all these years... Hmmm.

Anyway, after having gotten that out of the way, this is a little track no one has ever listened to, except for Bad-Man-Incorporated and myself of course. I don't think he'd mind that I'm showing this off now. I mean, it has been a looooong time. I'm not sure exactly when this was made but have a listen, it's brief but good.

Here, you can find the Bad-Man-Incorporated/Scribbler collab.

Over the next couple of days, I will be releasing unreleased demos and songs I may have recorded with various authors here on NG to show you just how gruesome it sometimes is to make JUST ONE track. Some of these people you'll recognize, others, you won't.

The game's almost done; all that's left to touch up is some of the code, cut scenes, and music placement. Yes, real custom original music was made just for the game!!! I am a wee bit excited.

Preview.
